W1KHL – Cal Bennett

Electrical Engineer, Radio Operator
     Calvin G. Bennett / W1KHL, 84 of Wilton, died Saturday July 20, 2002 at his summer home in Middletown. He was the husband of the late Dorothea Masterton Bennett.


w1khlHe was born on November 26, 1917, in Meridan, the son of the late Lou and Mary Thorpe Bennett. He was a long time resident of Wilton.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as an electrical engineer with Kanthal Corporation in Bethel. Earlier in his career he worked for the Remington and Ronson Companies.
Cal was an avid bowler and amateur radio operator. He was a member of GNARC, ARRL and Nutmeg Chapter 149 of QCWA. He enjoyed bowling with the Wilton Congregational Church Team.
Cal was also a member of the AARP and a member of the Wilton Congregational Church.
He is survived by 5 children, 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
